Welcome to Ready Kids!

Disasters impact children and youth across the United States. But when they prepare and practice for an emergency, it improves their ability to take immediate action and to ease anxiety. With training, they can actively take part in their community’s preparedness plans at home or at school. It’s important that everyone know what to do in case of a disaster. Kids are no different. It’s possible they may not be near an adult when disaster strikes. At the same time, it’s important for parents, teachers, and others who work with children and youth to be informed and ready to help them when disaster strikes. Children make up roughly 25 percent of the population, but 100 percent of our future. Help make sure they are prepared and know what to do. Preparedness for the future starts today.

Whether you’re a kid or teen yourself, love them as part of your family, or work with them as a teacher, emergency manager, or other professional, Ready Kids has tools and information to help you before, during, and after disasters.
